Professional Experience
Weihan Che is a Professor of the School of International Business Administration and the Department Chair of World Economy and Trade, Shanghai University of Finance Economics. He has a Ph.D. in Economics. He supervises Ph.D./Master students in World Economics and Master students in International Business. He has directed many research projects supported by social science foundations in national, provincial and ministerial levels. Highlights in recent years include National Social Science Foundation project (grant no. 09BGJ020), Humanities and Social Sciences Program of the Ministry of Education (grant no. 08JA790078), Key Philosophy and Social Sciences Development Report Project of the Ministry of Education (grant no. 11JBG004), Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Project of Shanghai (grant no. 2008BCK001), and 211 research projects of the university and so on.
His research has been published in prestigious national and international journals, magazines and conference proceedings, such as Journal of World Economy, Economic Perspectives, Studies of International Finance, World Economics and Politics, and Economic Summary (in Japanese). Representative books include Research on Japan's Economic Cycle, Catching-up Economy and World Economic Development Report.
He currently serves many positions including Academic Committee Member of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Vice President and Secretary of the National Foreign Economic History Research Society. He was Vice President of National Japanese Economic Research Society. He is a Visiting Professor of Center of World Economic History, Institute of World Economic and Politics of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and an Adjunct Professor of Japan Research Center of Fudan University. He was the Executive Associate Dean of the School of International Business Administration, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
