Prof. Kees Koedijk joins SUFE

Professor Kees Koedijk, the Dean of TiAS School of Business at Tilburg University, signed the Letter of Appointment with Shanghai Univeristy of Finance and Economics on July 21, 2016. From September, he will serve as the Senior Advisor to Dean and the Special-term Professor in International Economics at School of International Business Administration. His role will change to Associate Dean of the School in 2017.

In the signing ceremony, SUFE Vice President Professor Lingzhen Yao went through the major landmarks of the University in its 99-year history. She highlighted that the openness has always been the University's strategy in all the stages of development and the key to excellence in both research and education. She warmly welcomed Professor Koedijk in joining the school leadership, and expected that he will bring in his expertise and experience to enhance the SUFE’s global appearance.

Professor Koedijk is a leading scholar in financial economics, financial institutions and Socially Responsible Investment. He is the Managing Editor of the Journal of International Banking and Finance. Before the deanship at TiAS, he was the Dean of Tilburg School of Economics and Management. Both schools are worldly renowned for their research impacts and quality in education programs.

Dean Jiandong Ju and HR Director Lin Cheng signed the Letters of Appointment with Koedijk on behalf of the School and the University, respectively. Assistant Dean Heng Ju and Deputy Director in International Exchange&Cooperation Office Jun Rong witnessed the event.

Professor Koedijk will contribute to the school’s future through building an international management team, designing curriculums for global education, and conducting research with the faculty. The endeavor is jointly supported by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and the Ministry of Education, under the program of “Network of International Centers for Education in China (NICE in China)”.
